Mr O'Kane is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Institute of Neurological sciences, Southern General Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Yorkhill in Glasgow.

 

He graduated from the University of Glasgow and completed basic surgical training in the West of Scotland. He undertook his Higher Neurosurgical training at the Leeds General Infirmary. He has completed a Fellowship in paediatric Neurosurgery at Sick Kids hospital Toronto.

 

He has a strong commitment to education and research. He has completed a Masters in Education. His major research interests are in the fields of neurotraumatology, neuro-oncology, hydrocephalus & CSF disturbance.
